Future of Black America 2053 and Beyond

A Call for Presentations and Speakers
 

CALL FOR ENTRIES

In partnership with The Futures Forum, the African American Future Society, Inc. will curate a collection of Short Stories as a Collateral Publication to be released in Fall 2022.   The stories should be written in the style of a newspaper or magazine article and set in the year 2030 - 2050 and beyond.   Entries are due by March 31, 2022.  Open to New, Emerging, Established Writers Futurists and Foresight practitioners.

GUIDELINES

Winning entries will contribute to the upcoming theme highlighting the unique struggles, circumstances, and journeys experienced by people of African descent in the USA—accepting entries between January 1, 2022 - March 28, 2022. Each Story should be no less than 140 words and no more than 300 words long.  For more information, visit our Preparing Your Entry Page or our FAQ page.

Bio

Dr. Claire Nelson is the Founder and Chief Ideation Leader of The Futures Forum, a thought leadership practice which promotes and conducts strategic foresight and integral development consulting, with a particular interest in global challenges. She is also Ideation Leader and President of the Board for Development Foresight Institute, a think-do tank based in the Caribbean. Since joining the World Futues Society in 2005, she has convened/facilitated several public fora on strategic foresight including Caribbean Vision 2020; the inaugural Youth Forum of the World Future Society; the African Futures Program of the African American Unity Caucus (AAUC), and a Special Youth Dialogue on the Future at the Inter-American Development Bank. A Member of the International Editorial Board of the World Future Society, she also serves as a Member of the Board of the Sustainability Division of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Mr. Anderson received his training in future studies at UMASS Amherst. He began his government/consulting career in 1986, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience using future methodology developing alternative futures aiding strategic planning and scenario development for government agencies, public and private businesses and NGOs.   President/Founder, African American Future Society, Fellow, World business Academy, Associate Fellow World Academy of Art and Science
